Power Bypass: Goodluck Jonathan declares state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States
Nigeria – President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, yesterday evening
declared a State of Emergency in Borno, Yobe and
Adamawa States in Nigeria. He made this declaration
during a 15-minute broadcast across the network services of
the Nigeria Television Authority, the Voice of Nigeria and
the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.
This decision was against the advise given by the Nigerian
Governors Forum.
In the words of the Commander-In-Chief of the armed
forces of Nigeria,
“The activities of insurgents have been intolerable. Some
parts of Borno State have been taken over by groups. The
insurgents and terrorists prevent government from
fulfilling its duties. No matter what it takes, we will win
this war against terrorism.”
