Two to Review: Kelly Hansome Vs Wizkid
It’s Sunday and no need to talk too much story, let’s get
right into it. Yea?
///////Kelly Hansome – Verbal Gymnastics (Open Letter)
Oh lord Kelly Hansome! I’m not sure there’s too many
other very talented artists out there that kill their potential
by dragging on meaningless beef.
Jay-Z‘s open letter is hard, and heavy. I mean it’s Jay-Z.
Now Kelly Hansome’s cover on the other hand is just not
it.
The bars & flow are not it at all, rhymes weren’t solid.
Kelly Hansome is not one made to hip-hop for real. No one
hears Kelly Hansome and thinks of him as a rapper. He’s
best doing his trademark songs like Maga Don Pay, Like
Play, Igwe, etc. Those are his heavy joints. That’s why we
liked Kelly Hansome. All this “forming hip-hop” and
taking jabs at artists is not working abeg. The beef can’t be
that deep biko. MI, Wande Coal & co have all moved on.
In the track, he quoted from the original “Y’all gon learn
today.” Quite frankly I didn’t learn anything. Overall this
makes for a song that’ll you’ll listen to once or twice, and
go back to the original by Jay-Z.

//////WizKid – Jaiye Jaiye
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that with WizKid it’s hit or
miss. This one right here is a serious hit. Between the beat
the Sarz, the sax from Femi Kuti, and WizKid’s catchy
flow, the song comes to be one that has to be serious hit for
the summer.
I’ve listened to this over and over again trying to find
anything wrong with it, and I just couldn’t pick out one
thing. Even though the jury is still out as to whether this is
as good as any of his other hit songs(Don’t Dull etc), it’s
still one that will make his greatest hits album when it’s all
said and done.
Hard to go wrong with Femi Kuti & Sarz with you.
Geniuses musically.
